The board game is based on the novel, Cotton Comes to Harlem by Chester Himes. The game needed to embody the theme of the novel but allow players to enjoy the game without having previously read the novel. The objective for the app was to turn a physical board game into a tablet app. It was important to find a way for users to interact that harnessed the energy and fun of stealing from your friends when playing the physical game. The inclusion of a messaging board and the ability to play with friends and choose who you rob were ways that the spirit of the game was kept alive.
